So Actress Gwyneth Paltrow in an interview with a Portugese paper took the
chance to slam Americans. I guess she called us greedy and material driven. She
then went on to say that people in her adopted England aren't as driven by money
as Americans. This is kind of interesting when you consider the actress won't
work for less than a million bucks...or maybe she is now and that's why no one
has see her in film in the past five or six years, I don't know.
At any rate, I think I'm the only conservative out there who is happy to the
actress say this. If she hates it in the United States that much, maybe she
won't come back. Our "loss" is England's "gain".
But what is even more delicious about this is that England is (obviously) not
the United States. It's a nation where liberalism is the rule of the land.
People like Gwyneth Paltrow are in charge. Ideas that Americans hold sacred,
like a right to guns, freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom of speech
are foreign concepts over there.
So mark my words right now: with the huge influx of holier than thou, know it
all Hollywood types escaping to Europe we the rapidly approaching the day when
one of them (while sipping lattes in fancy cafes discussing Marx and the how
dirty and greedy Americans are) is going to say the wrong thing about the wrong
group of people and find legal action (or worst) being taken against them. They
will find out that 1) what Americans would call "free speech" doesn't exist over
there and 2) yes the laws apply to them as well.
This is going to be very interesting to watch.
